Her story

Raised to serve, trained to listen

Trinicia Leonard grew up in Montgomery, Louisiana, a small Grant Parish town where, as she puts it, she was taught early “the value of hard work, faith, and service to others.” Those lessons pointed her toward the law.

She earned her degree at Southern University Law Center and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 2017. She went to work as a prosecutor for Caddo Parish, where she carried the state's burden of proof and sat across from victims, witnesses, and families on the hardest days of their lives.

Today she runs Leonard Law Group, LLC, representing people in criminal defense and family law matters. She has argued cases from both tables in the same building — and that is not a line on a résumé. It is the reason she understands that a courtroom looks completely different depending on which chair you are sitting in.

“I’ve spent my legal career working in our local courtrooms and serving individuals and families throughout this community. I believe our courts should be fair, respectful, and accessible to everyone.”

— Trinicia Leonard, announcing her candidacy

Outside the courtroom, she serves in the Louisiana State Bar House of Delegates and as Vice President of the Women's Section of the Shreveport Bar Association. She is a wife and the mother of two young sons.

Family

Wife, mother, and neighbor

Wife, mother of two, and community servant. Trinicia and her husband are raising two young sons in Shreveport — the same city whose court she is asking to serve.

It is not incidental to the campaign. The families who come through City Court on a Tuesday morning are her neighbors, and the standard she wants applied to them is the one she would want applied to her own.

The Leonard family at home in Shreveport

Shreveport deserves a City Court it can trust.

This race will be decided by a small number of voters in Division D. If you live here, your vote carries real weight — and so does bringing one neighbor with you.
